How much of our lives is filled with so much stuff. Maybe it’s good stuff. But it’s crowding and filling our lives. In fact our lives are stuffed. We are so busy that we barely have time to brush our teeth or to swallow some water. We have so much stuff that I bet there are things you own that you forgot you have or own things that are still brand new and unused. We think that adding one more activity, item or program to our lives will complete us. But they never will and never do.
But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:41-42)
Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ. (Philippians 3:8)
